Frequently Asked Questions
Why is everyone’s hair always pulled back in Swelly videos?
Great catch! Hair is always tied back in our videos because it’s super important to keep long hair (and anything loose!) away from Swelly’s propeller. That includes clothing, jewelry, drawstrings, pool toys, sticks, or anything else kids might bring into the pool.
We designed Swelly with safety in mind, and part of that is making sure nothing gets caught where it shouldn’t. So before hopping on, tie hair back securely, remove anything loose, and you're good to cruise!
Pool safety is ALWAYS our top priority — and when used properly, Swelly is all fun, no fuss. 💦
Does Swelly float?
No, Swelly does not float, which is why it should never be used in open water like lakes or the ocean. Swelly is meant to submerge slightly while in use, which actually allows it to move more efficiently underwater (where there's less drag). For those who prefer more buoyancy, we always recommend pairing Swelly with a child’s life vest.
Swelly is designed for use in controlled environments such as pools, where it's easy to retrieve if released or dropped. Because it can sink, using it in open or deep water could pose a risk of loss or make it difficult to recover safely.
How long does the battery last on a full charge?
Swelly provides up to 60 minutes of continuous use.
Is Swelly safe for kids?
Yes, it is suitable for children 6 years and older, under close adult supervision. Like any pool toy or water device, Swelly should only be used by children who are strong swimmers and confident and capable in the water.
How fast does Swelly go?
Swelly travels at a gentle speed, up to 3.1mph, that's ideal for children. Its propeller force is intentionally designed with safety as the top priority, providing just enough thrust for kids to have fun while remaining in control. While Swelly was made with kids in mind, plenty of adults have taken Swelly for a spin!
Can you use Swelly without submerging your face in the water?
Sure! Swelly can totally be your child’s sidekick above the surface, too. Kids can cruise around the pool without going fully under — no goggles required. If your little one prefers to stay extra buoyant, we recommend popping on a life vest for easy floating and max fun. Just a heads up: Swelly really hits its stride when it's fully submerged (less drag = more zoom!). Whether you’re riding high or diving low, Swelly’s here to make pool time a blast.
Why is Swelly non-refundable?
We take great pride in the quality of our products, and therefore, each Swelly is carefully inspected and packaged before being shipped to you. Once used in water, it cannot be resold or restocked for safety and quality assurance reasons. For these reasons, all sales are final.
